Need a smooth non bleeding ink pen?

I write very small, and I really like the line that a gel pen creates. However, every gel pen i've found either bleeds through a piece of notebook paper, or what i'm writing itself actually spreads. I am fairly deliberate when i write, but i don't sit with the pen in one place on the paper yet it still spreads. I've also used ballpoints but they don't leave that nice dark line as the gels do, and they don't typically write well either (for my small writing). I am by no means really knowledgeable on pens, but what i'm asking for is a pen that provides a smooth dark line, that doesn't bleed, ballpoint or gel doesn't matter. Actually i'd like some ideas for both. I'm not looking to spend $100 for one pen, i'm a college student, but at the same time i don't expect to get quality for $3
